Communications And Public Relations Leader - Colombia

Americares is looking for a Communications and Public Relations Leader fluent in English and Spanish to design, implement and monitor the effectiveness of the communications and marketing strategy, making use of their knowledge in design tools, social media management, multimedia and media relations, in addition to ensuring and protecting the reputation of the organization and the relationship with the media. This is a full-time temporary contract position based in Bogota and reporting to the Country Director in Colombia. The Communications Leader will be responsible for, among others, the following functions: Ensure public relations, support the positioning of Americares in Colombia, and the Organization's messages. Support the planning and execution of the Organization's communications strategy and overall messaging. Articulate communications activities with the Marcoms department. Support the implementation of the Branding Strategy and Branding Plan for all communication activities and events. Create stories and content for Americares Colombia projects. Develop and implement the organizational media plan. Write talking points, speeches, press releases, presentations, content and social media (SoMe) materials as needed and assigned. Ensure and protect the organization's reputation. Conduct constant media monitoring of EF's partners, counterparts and key stakeholders in order to keep up to date with the political and technical agenda of the various entities. Perform internal follow up of agendas, meetings, key dates, reference notes and engagements with public entities and private organizations, working closely with the Technical Writer for this purpose. Coordinate communications with subcontractors, financial service providers, the Government of Colombia, donors and other key stakeholders in the development and distribution of information products. Support the management of programmatic events, trade shows, exhibitions and initiatives (e.g. conferences and other events). Develop and update promotional materials to ensure program materials are correctly and consistently branded. Travel to target municipalities to execute responsibilities as needed and work in a coordinated manner with regional teams to gather and collect content. Review communication materials with the Country Director to ensure compliance with programmatic objectives, local security policy and strategic objectives. QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5-year minimum experience in external communications and/or media relations; Experience in vendor management, event design, brand launches and high-level meeting preparation; Excellent attention to detail and fluent Spanish and English for written and oral communications, grammar and syntax; Excellent relationships with Colombian and international media in Colombia; Experience creating and managing media lists; Experience writing press releases and pitches; Familiarity with AP style; Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Power Point), Creative Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, After Effects, Premiere, etc.); Strong interest in international assistance, development and health; Highly organized, strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines; ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Submission of curriculum vitae in English and Spanish.
