About the Position:
Reporting to the President & Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Human Resources Officer leads all aspects of the Human Resources function for the organization, including overall planning and delivery within the Human Resources department, and drives HR strategies and initiatives that support the global organization's effectiveness. This leader acts as a trusted advisor to and member of the executive leadership team to develop and deliver long- and short-term objectives. They will leverage deep and broad knowledge in HR disciplines, understanding related industry trends and practices in a global context, to enhance the employee experience and meet evolving workforce needs,
with a focus on operational excellence and talent management. This is an ideal opportunity for a leader with a depth and breadth of people-centered US and international HR experience. The Chief Human Resources Officer supervises the Associate Director, Global HR Operations; the Associate Director, Talent & Engagement Solutions; and a total, global team of 11. The Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for the following areas:

- Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement

- Employee Experience & Culture
- Global HR Operations
- Compensation Program Administration
- Benefits Administration
- Compliance & Safety
- HR Systems and Data Analysis & Management

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership + Vision

- Defines and drives a comprehensive HR strategy that delivers high-value services and programs aligned with organizational strategy, culture, and business objectives.
- Serves as a member of and strategic business partner to the executive leadership team to advance the employer brand,
acquisition and retention of top talent, and enhanced employee experience.

Team Management

- Within the HR department, manages a global team of 11, challenging and maximizing the strength of the team by aligning their efforts to meet objectives and deliver results.
- Fosters productive cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive effort and delivery of business outcomes.
- Develops and manages the annual plan and budget for the department, promoting investments that build an operationally strong and sustainable workforce and organization.

Organizational Talent Management

- Leads the development and delivery of policies and processes that provide an integrated, structured approach to individual development planning, performance goal setting, performance feedback,
and formal appraisal to meet business needs and support individuals in realizing their potential.
- Oversees key operational improvements and projects in line with legal and internal policy requirements.

Organizational Effectiveness + Culture

- Serves as a thought partner to the executive sponsor for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Ensures the administration of tools and measurements to monitor organizational effectiveness and engagement. Proactively develops and implements initiatives to facilitate change and sustain a strong, purposeful, and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience required; SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
- 20 years overall experience including progressive human resources experience, 10+ years of experience at or above the director level; 5+ years in an organizational leadership position.

- Significant experience overseeing human resources within globally dispersed companies/organizations.
- Proven track record of evolving and scaling the HR function in a multi-entity organization.
- Experience developing and improving employee-centric talent management systems and processes in a global context.
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Ability to navigate complex legal frameworks to ensure the organization's HR practices align with applicable laws and regulations and mitigate potential risks across diverse global geographies.
- Ability to develop business partnerships and work with diverse employee populations, multiple departments, and varying business units; understand the intricacies of the organization's structure, culture,
and processes to identify HR-related issues and propose effective solutions.
- Ability to interpret complex HR data, identify patterns and trends, and use insights to make informed decisions related to talent management, performance improvement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, including highly developed skills to motivate, inspire and persuade.

Location: Remote in the U.S. or based in headquarters (Kansas City, MO).

Travel Requirement: Up to 25% domestic and international travel.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation range for this position is set at $190,000-$230,000, commensurate with experience. There is up to 20% incentive bonus eligibility.
This position offers full-time benefits inclusive of medical/dental insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement program; as well as periodic review for merit and incentive pay based on organizational and personal achievement.
