We are looking for a Casualty single-risk underwriter (m/f/d*) focused on Casualty / TPL / D&O / Cyber Risks / Professional Indemnity to join our team. Your Job: Assessing and underwriting Casualty single risks offers (proportional and non –proportional with a high degree of exposures analysis) for our clients in LA Region, including pricing, risk assessment, policy wording analysis, quotation, admin and documentation. Implementing business acquisition tactics in accordance with target portfolio, risk appetite, underwriting guidelines and authorities, client segmentation and business unit strategy. Closely interacting with clients, understanding their needs and business strategy for developing joint opportunities and providing tailor made solutions. Pro-active enhancement and expansion of business relationships in direct contact with cedants and brokers with a clear focus on acquisition of new profitable business. Supporting managerial tasks of the department manager on matters such as strategy implementation, underwriting quality assurance and business development, closely interacting with the headquarters. Supporting treaty underwriting in client reviews for Casualty lines of business. Supporting local office and other areas on technical questions and business development by taking a high degree of personal initiative and consistently exploiting all synergies available within Munich Re. Coordinating and facilitating local internal and regional UW procedures within UW Excellence Framework. Support seminars, workshops for clients on local and regional basis. Taking on special projects / initiatives, e.g. within multidisciplinary working groups and projects on local and regional scale. Actively contribute to ensure opinion leadership within the Casualty re/insurance community in the region. Working on market, customer and portfolio analyses, and providing ideas to generate new business and innovative (product) solutions. Strategic and innovative vision of the business to support its development. Your Profile: University degree (preferably in Law, economy, Business Administration). MSc. Is a plus. A minimum of 5 years single risks Casualty underwriting experience in reinsurance / direct insurance and/or claims. Experience on specific field of business practice / expertise desirable e. g. D&O, PI, Cyber Ability to work as a team player in multidisciplinary environments. High degree of client orientation, negotiation & marketing skills and interest in finding innovative client solutions. Excellent analytical skills and ability to think out of the box. Preparedness to take ownership, proactive, highly self-motivated and target-oriented. Proven Intercultural competence and delight in working in international teams. High degree of commitment, flexibility and willingness to travel. Business-fluent (written and spoken) Spanish and English. German is of advantage.
