Capital Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Capital Analyst with at least four years of work experience and a minimum of one year in a buy-side role. Prior experience of investment banking or management consulting highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial modeling and quantitative analysis and writing investment memos. You will play a critical role in identifying and underwriting new investment opportunities, monitoring, and supporting portfolio companies, conducting research, and supporting various functions within the investment team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investment Opportunity Prospecting:
• Focus on "top-of-funnel" sourcing and identifying new investment opportunities across various sectors.
• Conduct preliminary analyses to assess investment potential, growth prospects, and market positioning.
2. Primary Research:
• Gather and analyze industry data to gain deep insights into emerging market trends and innovative business models.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to inform the investment thesis.
3. Financial Modeling and Analysis:
• Build detailed and dynamic three-statement financial models for target companies.
• Perform comprehensive quantitative analyses and scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support investment decisions.
4. CRM & Data Management:
• Manage and maintain data integrity within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
• Organize and manage deal files, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
5. Ad-Hoc Projects:
• Assist in executing special projects that support overall investment activities or strategic initiatives.
6. Writing Memos:
• Draft clear and compelling investment memos that summarize findings and articulate the investment rationale.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of total work experience, including at least one year in a buy-side role.
• Proven expertise in building three-statement financial models and conducting advanced financial analyses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant CRM systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Possess a proactive attitude toward all tasks, with a keen focus on attention to detail.
