SuperSummary is a subscription-based website and mobile app offering a library of professionally written study guides and other educational tools and resources on thousands of books for students, teachers, and readers of all types. About the Job At SuperSummary, data drives our most important decisions — from which in-demand literature titles to cover in our Study Guide Library to how to best meet user needs on our site. As an integral part of our data-centric approach, we're looking for a skilled Business Analyst / Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has a mix of both technical (SQL, BI) and business skills with proven experience using them to bridge the gap between data analysis and business operations, leveraging data-driven insights to influence strategic decision-making and product development. You will report to the Data Science Manager and, on a daily basis, interact with stakeholders across the company — including product managers, department heads, and C-level leaders — who rely on your deliverables for strategic planning and key decisions. This role is 100% remote, located in Latin America. Our fully remote team is distributed across the globe with the majority of the team working in the United States, Brazil, and the Philippines. Key Functional Responsibilities Analyze complex business datasets to identify trends, drivers, behaviors, and other key insights that will guide strategic decision making across the company. Create custom data models for analytics use cases. Develop, update and maintain reports and dashboards, using BI solutions and other reporting / visualization tools. Collaborate with Product Teams to identify opportunities for feature optimization through data analysis, enhancing user experience and engagement on the platform. Contribute to designing and implementing data collection processes to answer key questions that will drive decision making. Support project budget management and resource allocation. Regularly report progress towards company health metrics and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs). Provide quality assurance of data sources as well as relevant metadata for the sources of the different reports. Interact with company leadership and understand their need for information; proactively create datasets, analysis and reports, simplifying information through visual storytelling technique and translating data into actionable business insights. Sample Projects Market research : Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy, business development initiatives, and feature prioritization. Traffic drivers : Use complex data analysis techniques to better understand the key drivers of traffic to our mobile app and website. Product analytics : Develop a suit of product analytics metrics and a better understanding of user engagement drivers. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reporting : Own the maintenance and updating of KPIs to measure project and product success; own a company-wide monthly "health metrics" report / dashboard. Other projects : Run analyses related to SEO, user churn, user segmentation, digital marketing, distribution channels, mobile app, title performance, content strategy and investments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field. 3 - 5+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in technology-driven industries, or startups. Deep expertise in SQL programming is a must. Deep technical proficiency in at least one BI tool (Tableau, Metabase, QlikSense, Microsoft Power BI). Strong analytical skills in other data analysis tools such Python, R or advanced Excel is required. Proficiency in creating visually appealing visualizations and dashboards to represent data analysis results. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data findings and implications into clear business narratives. Desired Skills & Experience Consulting (or equivalent) background: able to identify the right questions in ambiguous situations, have a systematic approach to problem-solving and provide clear conclusions and advice. Experience in a digital B2C company, preferably in a startup environment. Experience with Google Analytics, Amplitude/Mixpanel and/or web-related traffic metrics and analysis. Intermediate level of Python programming. Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus. Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
