Job Description Summary The Production Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Escravos and Agbami FPSO oil and gas facilities. This includes operating and monitoring process vessels and ancillary equipment, which involves production, processing, loading, storage, and ballasting operations. The role requires continuous monitoring and addressing/responding to plant and equipment issues, managing control room operations, and handling process boundaries. Performing routine operator duties, interfacing with experienced control room operators and maintenance personnel to ensure all equipment is available for startup or properly secured after shutdown. The scope of work also includes operating and monitoring gas compression and glycol systems, water and gas injection systems, and executing offloading procedures as required. Additionally, the Production Operator is responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are properly permitted and monitored for adherence to safe working practices and company protocols within the assigned area of responsibility. Key Responsibilities Optimize operational equipment such as compressors, pumps, FPSO tank related work, etc. Perform operation of complex equipment such as Gas Turbine Compressors, Fired Heaters, Turbo-Expanders, Pipeline pumps, etc. This includes lining up, isolating, starting-up, monitoring, and shutting-down this type of equipment consistent with safe working practices, procedures, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Respond appropriately and effectively in the event of a process upset and emergencies. Perform routine duties to check isolation valves statuses, Motor Control Center (MCC) switch gear status, Fire Monitor testing, safety equipment inspection, fire & gas systems, etc., and leveraging handheld and desktop IT tools to capture daily equipment/plant monitoring statuses. Perform troubleshooting and front-line maintenance on process equipment and cascade to the maintenance team for repairs via a work order system. Perform critical operations such as pigging, topping of turbine oil, monitoring generators, and general operations of oil and gas equipment and facilities. Operate the Distributed Control System during routine operations under the direct supervision of an experienced Console Operator. Process daily work permits for maintenance and other support work groups and fulfill the role of Facility Site Reps to ensure the work site is safe to work. Acknowledge, respond, and initiate corrections/actions to process alarms. Maintain reports and update system daily reports. Function as a member of the emergency response team organization (ORT and Coxswain activities). Assist in organizing and directing preventative maintenance and housekeeping activities. What You Will Bring Experience 0 - 4 years' relevant post-graduation experience in oil & gas production/processing operations or in a heavy industrial process-driven environment, performing operational tasks. Qualification BSc/ HND/ OND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering or applied sciences disciplines. Expertise Knowledge of oil and gas production systems and equipment. Ability to operate and maintain production equipment. Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and regulations. Additional Considerations Applicable professional certifications.
