As a Content Development Specialist, you are responsible for overseeing a specific area of the Content Development team. Your job includes writing web content for new Scorpion clients before the launch of their website; editing client-provided and freelanced content; communicating with our internal teams; organizing projects to ensure they meet deadlines; acting as a resource for our internal writers; and assisting the Director of Content Development in ensuring your area has the tools they need. You are expected to write and edit content that is unique, thoroughly researched, cohesively presented, and optimized for search by the latest SEO best practices. As a Content Development Specialist, you are also a point of contact in your area of expertise for internal and external writers, as well as our internal development teams, and will provide the Director with any relevant information or changes in your respective area. Responsibilities Develop and deliver high-quality, accurate content for Scorpion clients, including blogs, web pages for new launches, and client-requested pieces. Write 25-35 pages/week (3,500 words/day) of unique content, ensuring quality, clarity, and consistency. Edit and proofread content to ensure it is factually accurate, grammatically correct, and reflects the appropriate tone and objectives for each client. Utilize AI tools to generate and edit content efficiently at scale. Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to create strategic, informative content that performs well in search engine rankings. Analyze site performance using 3rd party SEO tools to identify strengths, weaknesses, and optimization opportunities. Brainstorm and research topics to increase clients' search presence and produce engaging content. Manage clients' content objectives and deliverables, adhering to client style guides and brand voice. Claim assignments, publish content, and evaluate campaign performance in Scorpion's proprietary systems. Maintain thorough and professional documentation of work completed, including updates to tracked search terms. Complete task queue daily and ensure all assigned content is delivered on or ahead of due dates. Understand clients' goals and preferences by reviewing previous work and notes in the company CS system to optimize content accordingly. Collaborate with your Lead to identify areas of opportunity and have an in-depth understanding of unique campaigns, goals, and challenges. Stay updated on current SEO trends, updates, and best practices within assigned vertical industries. Translate English-written content into Spanish (web pages, ad copy, blogs). Requirements 2+ years of work within an SEO-focused organization. Proven ability to research, write, and edit high-quality content. Familiarity with SEO best practices and content marketing. Experience utilizing AI tools to increase productivity and workflow. Effective communication skills for proactive and candid communication with Scorpion concerning work schedule, absences, deadline extensions, etc. Strong time management and organizational skills to meet content deliverable deadlines. Ability to adhere to client style guides and brand voice, appealing to the target audience. Proven track record of delivering content on or ahead of due dates with minimal to no content escalations from management or clients. Personal or professional ongoing writing, related education, or job experience. Basic understanding of internal/external backlinks. Competencies in analytical ability, critical thinking, creative storytelling, investigative reasoning, and campaign strategy. Ability to translate English copy into Spanish copy.
