Role purpose: LRQA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Spanish- and English-speaking Associate to support our growing work helping clients design and implement strategic programs focused on business and human rights and ESG / sustainability in their supply chains. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven and passionate individual who will be motivated by the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of corporate sustainability and climate / human rights and is energized by innovative and challenging environments. In this role, you will be a part of our advisory practice in the Americas, working closely with clients to develop responsible sourcing and sustainability advisory projects and implement sustainable solutions along the value chain. You will be provided with the opportunity to develop skills in sustainability consulting and learn from our global team of experts. You will gain exposure working with multinationals and brands across industries, including consumer goods, retail, food/agriculture, and electronics. You will deepen your knowledge of topics such as sustainability strategy, sustainable supply chains, climate change, human rights, and how businesses are responding to these issues. You will gain exposure to a range of different industries and approaches and develop new skills and knowledge rapidly. This is an ideal opportunity for graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of work experience looking to develop a career in sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Support Advisory project teams and take ownership of specific tasks to design and deliver client engagements and projects, with guidance from more senior staff. Topics include, but are not limited to, responsible sourcing / ESG strategies, supply chain segmentation, carbon emissions / "Net Zero" policies and initiatives, human rights policies and manuals, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement. Tasks can include: Research, information analysis and synthesis to address clients' needs. Complete composition of – or partial contribution to – written client deliverables like reports and presentations. Communication with clients and presentation of deliverables to clients. Data analysis in Excel or Power BI. Contribute to proposal writing, as directed by Senior Consultants and other Senior staff. Utilize, in a timely and accurate manner, LRQA's business platforms and processes (CRM, time-keeping software, file-storage and file-sharing, etc.). Develop thought leadership by contributing to written blogs, webinars, and newsletters and assist occasionally in marketing and communications. Key health & safety responsibilities: Eliminate or minimize employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessments, and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LRQA activities. Manage your own, and your team's, compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely. Number of direct reports: 0 Geographic area of impact: Americas & United Kingdom Key stakeholders: Advisory, Business Development, Account Managers, EiQ.ai Managers Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements: 1-3 years professional experience in sustainability/ESG, supply chains, human rights consulting, is preferred. Strong writing skills in English required, Spanish preferred; Portuguese is a plus. Ability to understand and interpret quantitative data; good understanding of working with Excel, is required; a good understanding of PowerBI is a plus. Detail and solutions oriented, strong problem-solving skills. Takes initiative and is able to work autonomously and in a fast-paced environment. Passionate about social and environmental topics, understanding of the landscape and regulatory trends. High-level of professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Competent understanding and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Adept at working virtually and in person – 1:1, team, – with a strong capacity for self-management, self-support, and learning/skills building, and capacity to work across different time zones when required. Strong organizational skills: self-motivation, time management, planning, prioritizing, flexibility.
