Currently, we are seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team.
Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for: Position Title: Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Seniority: Senior Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia What you will be doing: As the Lead Software Development Engineer in Test, you will lead the automation efforts and mentor engineers.
You will guide the design and execution of test automation solutions, working closely with the team.
You will act as a change agent, driving improvements in test development processes and advocating best practices.
This role requires an individual who can collaborate across teams to define and implement robust automated testing strategies.
Some of the things expected from you include the following: - Lead and mentor junior SDET engineers, offering guidance on test automation best practices and design principles.
- Architect, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish acceptance criteria for both manual and automated testing strategies based on functional requirements.
- Oversee and refine continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Develop and execute API testing strategies (SOAP and RESTful services), ensuring high test coverage.
- Work with both remote and local development teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of test strategies.
- Contribute to the execution of non-functional testing (performance, latency, failover, etc.)
using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Implement test lifecycle management using TestRails or equivalent tools.
- Assist in developing testing solutions for applications running on Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
Requirements & Qualifications: - BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering Discipline or equivalent on the job experience.
Skills: - 3+ years of experience as Lead of automation QA teams.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an automation test engineer, with a focus on building test suites using Java and Selenium WebDriver (Cucumber BDD is a plus).
- Expertise in Page Object Model frameworks and strong knowledge of test automation methodologies.
- Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build tools.
- Familiarity with Angular.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Familiarity with JUnit/TestNG for unit testing.
- Experience in defining acceptance criteria for both manual and automated tests based on functional requirements.
- Solid experience with continuous integration systems, preferably Jenkins.
- Proficiency in API testing (SOAP, RESTful services).
- Strong knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Experience with version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Prior experience in non-functional testing (performance, latency, failover testing).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
- Experience in working with distributed teams and effectively managing communication across time zones.
Good to haves: - Web, Windows application testing a plus - Gherkin Knowledge is a plus - Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus Soft Skills: - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across different time zones.
