Animal Behavior Coordinator - Animal Shelter - Evans

Animal Behavior Coordinator (Evans, CO) Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly Reporting to our Animal Behavior Supervisor, our Animal Behavior Coordinators serve as shelter resources for basic animal behavior and enrichment. Responsibilities include: Evaluating animals for outcomes including adoption, foster care, transfer, medical attention and more. Developing and implementing programs and practices to meet the enrichment needs of companion animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles, and more. Interacting with animals and staff, training, and working with volunteers. Communicating with clients through various channels. Assisting with training and the creation of basic help guides. Requirements: A minimum of an Associate degree in biology, animal sciences, animal husbandry, veterinary-technician studies, or an associated field of study OR equivalent applicable work experience in addition to a high school diploma. A minimum of over one year work experience in animal welfare OR six (6) months current experience with the Organization in an animal handling position. Customer service experience along with emotional intelligence, work ethics, and work integrity. Proven bilingual skills in English and Spanish (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing) is a plus and includes a pay premium. The regular work schedule is 40 hours per week and includes one weekend day, subject to change according to business need. Overtime and attendance at events, trainings, and more is required. Hiring range begins at $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with applicable experience and education. Closes January 5th, 2025, or when filled.
