The Accounting Senior Analyst is responsible for ensure that the transactions booked in the GL system reflect the economic reality, considering the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions for the bank's subsidiaries and guarantee the reasonableness of accounting information under the scope of Accounting Team in Bogota. Accountabilities Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Perform requested documentations for auditing purposes. Perform financial analysis and reporting to Supervisor as needed. Perform financial analysis and reporting to Supervisor as needed. Prepare, Analyze, and do follow-up to Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Process journal entries/reconciliation process and variance analysis as required. Generate financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions. Analyze the PL reasonability per account level, provide comments and suggest adjustments if needed for the assigned business unit Prepare and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations. Attend meetings and required by team leaders. Identify process improvement opportunities for team and escalate to Accounting Supervisor. Keep good communications and co-working with stakeholders in Canada and other places where the Bank is in. Keep Desktop Training Procedures (DTP) documents for relevant processes up to date. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Reporting Relationships Primary Manager: Accounting Supervisor Direct Reports: Not applicable Shared Reports: Not applicable Education / Experience / Other Information Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar professions (general knowledge in Accounting or Treasury, Accounts Payable, banking is a plus). 3+ years' experience in general or tax accounting (Big four companies) Experience with computerized ledger systems Knowledge of Excel and English skills (Advance).
