Purpose Contributes to the overall success of the Wealth operation in Finance Services Unit, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The Accounting Senior Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the transactions booked in the GL system reflect the economic reality, considering the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions for the bank's subsidiaries and guaranteeing the reasonableness of accounting information under the scope of the Accounting Team in Bogota. Accountabilities Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Perform requested documentation for auditing purposes. Perform financial analysis and reporting to Supervisor as needed. Prepare, analyze, and do follow-up to Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Process journal entries/reconciliation process and variance analysis as required. Generate financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions. Analyze the PL reasonability per account level, provide comments and suggest adjustments if needed for the assigned business unit. Prepare and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations. Attend meetings as required by team leaders. Identify process improvement opportunities for the team and escalate to Accounting Supervisor. Maintain good communication and cooperation with stakeholders in Canada and other locations where the Bank operates. Keep Desktop Training Procedures (DTP) documents for relevant processes up to date. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
