The Role The Accounting Manager role will focus on maintaining and further professionalizing Amperon's financial records, controls, and processes to ensure accuracy of its financial statements with an emphasis on month-end close and audit preparedness. In this capacity, you will help to ensure Amperon continues its adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations. You will also work directly with Amperon's customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on Accounts Payable and Receivable transactions while also interfacing with finance leadership and operational management to support Financial Planning & Analysis activities. Challenges You'll Work On As a key member of our Finance team, you'll help support Amperon as it continues its rapid growth trajectory. Some areas of focus include: Own the financial close process, including year-end audit and the preparation of internal / external consolidated financial statements. Oversee internal audit process and ensure timely preparation of financial reports. Develop, implement and maintain the internal systems and financial controls for scalable growth. Partner with FP&A to ensure accurate reported results and forecasts, and provide management with timely information for effective, strategic decision making. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. Ensure consolidated financial statements are in accordance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements and company policies. Develop, refine, monitor, and enforce effective internal controls, policies, and procedures. Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and processes, driving improvements within the finance organization. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current accounting standards, GAAP, and other compliance matters. Support ad hoc special projects as needed. About You You have a desire to meaningfully contribute to a fast-growing, Series B stage company at the intersection of energy data and AI with a passion for supporting the energy transition as our existing energy systems change in real-time. Additional requirements include: Bachelor's Degree (minimum) required in Accounting or Finance, CPA highly preferred. Minimum seven years of relevant work experience, including at least three years of Accounting Manager experience. Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or nationally recognized accounting firm. Strong technical accounting skills with demonstrated revenue recognition experience, as well as solid knowledge of internal control frameworks. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working directly with ERP and AP/AR systems (NetSuite, Maxio, Bill.com). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities. While we are serious about our company's culture, we aren't going to force "culture" to prove that we are cool and fun.
