The client's company acts as an intermediary between trucking companies and shippers, ensuring client satisfaction with the provided trucking services while keeping trusted trucking companies busy.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our financial operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and leading the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
This role requires a hands-on professional capable of cleaning up and maintaining the company's books, implementing efficient processes, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
Clean, organize, and maintain the company's financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring they reflect the company's financial position accurately.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records regularly.
Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures and controls.
Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices while maintaining vendor relationships.
Manage customer invoicing and collections to optimize cash flow.
Work closely with external auditors or consultants as needed for tax preparation and financial reviews.
Provide financial reporting to management, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including AP/AR management.
Expertise in cleaning and organizing financial records and books.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills: Experience in logistics, transportation, or a related industry.
Familiarity with financial forecasting and budget preparation.
Exceptional communication skills for collaboration across departments.
