Cariboo Pulp is currently recruiting for a 4th or 3rd Class Power Engineer. Reporting to the Shift Engineer, the power engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent operations of Steam Plant equipment. As a member of this high performing team you will also be responsible for working safely within the pulp mill.
You'll Do: Maintaining a safe work environmentEnsuring consistent operations of the Steam Plant in a pulp millWork towards achieving operating target goalsFacilitating the reliable supply of services to the millOperating in a shift crewOperating a wide variety of equipment including:Power/package boilersTurbo-generatorsChemical recovery boilerRecaust & Lime KilnEvaporators and concentratorsWater treatment and Effluent treatment plantsHog conveyors and outside servicesYou have: Experience as a power engineer with increasing responsibilityA 4th or 3rd class power engineering certificateProven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and team building skillsDemonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skillsDesire to progress, learn, grow, and succeedAbility to work 12-hour shiftsCompensation Package: The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company. The current minimum rate in the department is $35.30.Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.Your Workplace Location: Located in Quesnel, BC, Cariboo Pulp and Paper is a forerunning producer of NBSK pulp as well as clean, green energy. Quesnel has a population of approximately 25,000 and features all major conveniences, including its own airport.
