Position Overview: As a Bookkeeper you will play a critical role in ensuring our financial records are accurate and up to date. You will manage daily financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and support the finance team in various accounting tasks, all essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Maintenance: Record financial transactions accurately in the general ledger, ensuring adherence to accounting standards. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage incoming and outgoing payments, process invoices, and record receipts to maintain accurate cash flow. Bank Reconciliations: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between financial records and bank statements, addressing discrepancies as needed. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Payroll Support: Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee salaries, benefits, and deductions, maintaining compliance with regulations. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns, payroll tax filings, and other required tax documentation. Expense Tracking: Track and report company expenditures, ensuring accurate documentation and categorization of transactions. Recordkeeping & Documentation: Maintain organized records of financial transactions and receipts, ensuring they are readily accessible for audits and reporting. Vendor and Client Management: Collaborate with vendors and clients to resolve billing issues, discrepancies, and payment inquiries efficiently. Month-End and Year-End Closures: Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring all financial data is up to date. Ad-Hoc Financial Support: Provide additional support to the finance team as needed, contributing to the team's goals and ongoing improvement. Qualifications: Language Skills: Proficiency in English at C1 level. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a bookkeeping or similar accounting role. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Payroll and Tax Knowledge: Experience with payroll processing and tax filings. Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effective teamwork and problem-solving. Education: High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Confidentiality: Commitment to handling sensitive financial information responsibly. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the healthcare or wellness industry.
