About the Role: The Chief of Staff will report to and partner with the CEO, playing a critical role in driving the overall strategy and operations of the organization.
This highly visible role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
The Chief of Staff will help run an effective Office of the CEO, lead high-impact initiatives, and ensure alignment with Hazel's operating principles.
This role may involve working with internal or external teams in lieu of the CEO.

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership, elevating insights and analysis on company operations, key management decisions and other areas.
Key Responsibilities 1.
Strategic Leadership: Support the CEO in setting and executing the overall vision and strategy of the organization.
Manage and coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives to align with company goals.
Analyze and synthesize data and information to inform high-level decision-making.
Lead special projects for areas the CEO oversees, proactively resolving problems before they reach the CEO.
Develop compelling content and narratives for the CEO for internal and external consumption (e.g., company presentations, investor presentations, external interviews, key meetings).
Conduct market research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Provide high-level support in strategic business planning, including the preparation of presentations and reports.
Form an independent point of view on achieving company goals, identifying potential gaps, defining plans to address them, and ensuring execution.
Work directly with the CEO and executive leaders to define company-wide priorities, including annual strategic planning and quarterly company OKRs.

Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement office policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate and liaise with different departments to streamline processes and improve communication.
Manage our outsourced accounting firm and oversee financial processes, including procurement-to-pay, expense management, and invoicing.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial reports.
Oversee project management for key company initiatives, ensuring timely and successful execution.

Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Foster a collaborative working environment and act as a bridge between different teams.
Ensure clear and effective communication of company strategies and goals across the organization.
Prepare the CEO for key engagements and decisions and act as a stand-in when needed.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic leadership role, with a background in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, startups, and/or Venture Capital.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
5+ years of experience in management consulting and/or in a business operations, finance, strategy, or product role at a high-growth technology company Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and project management tools.
High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving attitude.
