It's an exciting time to join us – we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation and reimagining the way we work.About the roleThe Assistant - Laboratory assists with preparing samples, carrying out basic laboratory procedures and running simple testsWhat you will be doingKey AccountabilitiesEnsures safe laboratory operationsEnsures all schedules are met in a timely manner and no justifiable complaints over performance Support laboratory safety initiativesEnsures safety of all personnel using the laboratory facilities by reviewing work practices, adherence to good laboratory practices, housekeeping and regulationsConducts routine analysis and testing to ensure compliance with production needs.Conducts calibration of online instrumentation for which the laboratory is responsibleEnsures accuracy of analyses and timely reporting of resultsProvides rapid reporting of out of specification results to the appropriate management representativeAdheres to analytical schedules, accurate analysis and timely reporting of results with the aid of Laboratory Information Management SystemConducts Laboratory Safety Induction and chemical awareness training as requiredProvides after-hours response service for any emergencies, equipment failures, and lab problemWhat you will bringGenerally up to 2 years experience.
