Software Tester Engineer Looking for a Test Engineer to extend our technology capabilities and leadership in enabling AMI and Internet of Things technologies. In this role, you will use your technical skills in ensuring the quality of our next-generation Advanced Metering Platform. Responsibilities will comprise understanding product functionality and features, creating and executing manual test cases, and being a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the product testing cycle while showing excellent judgment. Responsibilities: Work with Software Engineers, Tech Leads, and Product Managers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented. Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs. Utilize Agile-based methodology to collaborate with a highly skilled development team (planning sessions, creating and reviewing user stories, estimating task effort, retrospectives, etc.). Required Skills: Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Great attention to detail with a result-driven test approach. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. A great team player and a self-starter who has the ability and willingness to learn new material quickly and perform in a fast-paced environment. Experience (and interest in) working in an agile-oriented environment that emphasizes integration of testing into the development process. Technical Qualifications: BS/MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject. Comfortable in a Unix/Linux environment, with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals. Experience working with test and development tools and frameworks such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins. Working knowledge of SQL and databases. Desired / Plus / Not Required: Experience testing REST/SOAP web service API. Knowledge of Java programming language. Working knowledge of Python and/or Unix shell scripts. Experience with message broker technologies. Interest/experience with the electric power distribution business domain.
