We are seeking a Senior Linux Engineer for a leading US provider of intelligent robotic solutions for logistics and e-commerce fulfillment centers. This role offers tremendous variety – from offline configuration and maintenance of Ubuntu systems to cloud deployment of Kubernetes clusters. Your primary responsibilities will include building, deploying, and monitoring production pipelines and systems. You will leverage your willingness to learn, your Linux knowledge, and your scripting capabilities to design and build efficient and robust GitLab CICD pipelines. You will orchestrate cloud deployed applications as well as custom packaged on-premises equivalents. You will also drive manufacturing solutions and software deployment for our PickOne application. Your understanding of containers, Debian packaging, and OS configuration in an offline environment will lead to efficient and robust updates to our in-field production systems. You will work with team leads and operations to strengthen our security posture. As a crucial member of a small but growing team, you will have a significant impact on the product direction. Essential Functions Collaborates with development teams and actively participates in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning. Works closely with IT team and security consultants to ensure best security practices are enforced both on deployed systems and supporting infrastructure. Drives the manufacturing process for production Industrial Personal Computers (IPCs) from BIOS to application launch. Configures, deploys, and monitors health for GitLab CICD runners. Gathers and analyzes metrics from deployed systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding. Creates and maintains high-quality documentation. Proactively addresses performance bottlenecks and problems. Respectfully collaborates with others of differing skill sets or skill levels. Sharpens their own skills by researching new technologies and expanding their own professional network. Qualifications and Requirements 5 years or greater of professional software engineering or DevOps experience. Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System). Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform & AWS or equivalents. BS in Comp-Sci or a related field, or equivalent applicable industry experience. Familiarity with Prometheus, Elastic or other performance monitoring equivalents. Familiarity with declarative automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or equivalents.
