Senior DevOps Analyst - Hybrid Environments IT - Network, Infrastructure and Security Company: CIAT Date: Vence 21 Dic 2024 About the position: This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting scalable, secure cloud and hybrid solutions tailored to research projects. The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia. It will offer hybrid working conditions. Responsibilities: Maintain a deep understanding of the Alliance's vision and strategic plan to ensure that cloud and hybrid initiatives align with organizational goals. Provide guidance to systems analysts, IT engineers, and architects to facilitate effective architectural decisions. Design, develop and implement integrated cloud/on-premises systems that meet operational, security and scalability requirements. Develop and maintain documentation of the organization's cloud architecture and infrastructure while enforcing cloud technology standards for consistent, high-quality implementation. Develop and manage a comprehensive capacity plan for cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal resource allocation and document investment plans identifying cost-reduction opportunities. Research emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that enhance infrastructure flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Continuously monitor cloud performance, develop and execute test plans, and recommend improvements to ensure system reliability and efficiency. Work closely with developers teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during deployment and ensure smooth integration, automate repetitive tasks, reduce manual interventions, and enhance system reliability. Provide technical support across cloud applications and services, managing complex technical tasks and troubleshooting. Collaborate with research teams to ensure the long-term cloud strategy remains aligned with platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure developments. Ensure that security measures are implemented within cloud operations and collaborate with security specialists as needed. Manage relationships with cloud service providers, ensuring their offerings meet operational needs and guide cloud cost management to optimize resource usage. Ensure the Alliance applications are always in a deployable state by designing and managing continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, CloudFormation) to automate the provisioning of cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Implement and configure monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios) to ensure high availability and performance of applications and services. Manage incident responses and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues. Support security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and compliance policies. Provide training and support to team members on new tools, processes, or architectural changes. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related fields. Specialization, training courses, or certifications in Cloud Computing, Systems Architecture, AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, AWS Specialty certifications, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform certifications. Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in an international organization, research, or academic environment in DevOps, system administration, or cloud operations. Advanced English level (oral and written). Comprehensive understanding of multi-tier architectures (web servers, caching, application servers, load balancers, storage solutions). Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases. Proficiency with message queuing systems and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies. Familiarity with Content Delivery Networks (CDN) for optimized content distribution. Experience with LAN/WAN networking technologies (route tables, firewalls, NAT, DNS, IP, OSI models). Strong understanding of RESTful web services and data formats (XML, JSON). Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. Programming and scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD platforms. Experience managing server infrastructures with tools like VMware or ProxMox. Understanding of the software development lifecycle, from development to deployment. Work experience in information and application security (security mechanisms and tools). Expertise in system performance tuning and managing large-scale distributed systems.
