Job Summary The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial activities, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes.

Essential Functions Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department Lead and supervise a team of accountants and ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial activities Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements to meet lender reporting obligations Review and approve reconciliations prepared by the accounting team, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly Manage user administration for QuickBooks and Yardi, including setting up new user accounts, assigning appropriate access levels, and maintaining user profiles Monitor financial transactions and account activity for signs of potential fraud Ensure accurate recording and documentation of mortgage transactions, including loan balances, interest rates, payment schedules, and escrow accounts Create job descriptions and job postings that accurately reflect the roles and responsibilities of the accounting department Conduct interviews and assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and fit for the organization Provide guidance and support to the team in resolving accounting issues Prepare and submit bank account opening documentation and manage existing bank accounts, including account closures Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports Assist in evaluating and implementing financial systems and software to optimize accounting processes and reporting capabilities Conduct annual performance reviews for accounting team members, setting clear goals and objectives, and providing constructive feedback to support professional and personal development Prepare and issue annual 1099 forms to vendors, accurately reflecting the amounts paid and reported on Form 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, or other applicable forms Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficient in using accounting software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices in accounting operations Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
