SCADA Specialist The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission oversees the operation of the largest regional water supply in the State of New Jersey, including two major reservoirs, two river-diversion pumping stations, and a 210-million gallon/day (MGD) water filtration plant. At peak capacity, the NJDWSC's facilities can serve the water needs of more than three million residents in Northern New Jersey. Position Responsibilities: Broad knowledge and skills in all aspects of controls engineering, industrial instrumentation, integration, and control devices is required. Maintain Process Control System, programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware and software for entire water treatment plant including chemical feeds, filter control, pump stations, residuals treatment facility and remote sites. Design, program and implement new/Capital projects for Process Control System. Perform engineering review and factory acceptance tests of new PLC Panels for Process Control System. Required Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of widely used control system packages such as Emerson PAC Machine Edition. Hands-on experience in PLC/HMI system programming required. Human Machine Interface (HMI)/SCADA programming: GE Cimplicity, Emerson PAC Machine Edition. PLC programming: GE 90-30, Emerson PACSystems RX3i. Computer Aided Drafting: AutoCAD. Familiar with basic electric AC/DC circuits, control wirings and ladder logic controls programming. Network and remote communications including radio, cellular, and TCP/IP networking a plus. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong technical background. Education/Experience/Background: B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field or 5+ years' experience in control system technology. Experience in water or wastewater treatment plants and system facilities, preferable but not required. Physical Requirements: • This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain; climb ladders, hills, and stairs; enter confined spaces to where SCADA equipment is located, moderate lifting up to 25 pounds; sit, stand and walk for long periods at a time.
