As an R&D NPD/technical manager, in multidisciplinary project teams, you will work on new product developments, cost saving and SC improvement projects. You will independently work hand-in-glove with Marketing, Supply Chain and all other supporting functions needed to deliver the projects.
As the R&D Technical Manager in Cali, you will drive implementation of the initiative that creates differentiation versus competition by designing plant-based products for superior taste, functionality, naturalness and/or nutritional properties. By applying state-of-the-art ingredient-, formulation- and processing technologies. You will work closely together with Flora R&D regional, global and emerging market, to find the right technical solution and be best in class in our category.
What You'll Do: Lead the implementation and delivery of the innovation and technology strategy for vegetable fat-based spreads, cooking, and baking products in the Cali Plant and 3PM in SOCO. Take technical leadership in implementing and delivering innovation and renovation projects for the Cali Plant and South Latin America, as well as integration within the supply chain, ensuring timely, complete, and quality-aligned delivery at the right cost. Collaborate with the commercialization team to design and develop innovative product prototypes, evaluating their feasibility and implementation in the Cali Plant and 3PM. Plan, set up, and conduct factory trials and initial production runs. Develop the relevant sections of product and technical specifications for sourcing and supply chain, aligned with quality, consumer safety, and regulatory requirements. So, what does it take to be successful in this role? A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in international product development and/or processing, ideally within food, margarine, oils, or fats production environments. Knowledge and experience in product production, including initiative qualification and implementation requirements (product, packaging, shipping tests, stability, physicochemical principles, and R&D). Practical knowledge of fat-based food science and technology, as well as Food Service product applications, is considered a plus. A proven track record of successful innovation delivery. Demonstrated success in teamwork across diverse geographies and cultures. Ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks. Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
