Then you might be the one we are looking for. About the role We recruit assistants hoping they will grow into more senior roles in the future. The Programme assistant will therefore be part of all key processes of the Latin America department. The main working tasks are to assist the Programme Officers and Senior Staff with key administrative tasks in the cooperation with human rights defenders in the region and in the implementation of Civil Rights Defenders Latin America programmes. Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of activities and grants, contributing with ideas, analysis and contacts. Write draft requests, contracts, payment orders etc., and store documentation in the archive, and make sure that the archive is updated for the auditing process. Assist in organizing events, trainings, receptions etc. Assist in administration of the office in Bogota. Contribute with ideas on new fundraising initiatives. Continuously build and share expertise on the HR situation in Latin America. Build individual capacity and experience to assume more advanced roles in the team in the future. The role offers a variety of tasks, including: Make payment orders to partners in the region, ensure the documentation is filed correctly, and find out new ways of making payments when necessary. Draft contracts, requests and other documents for Programme Officers to add texts and analyses to. Keep track of all templates of the team and ensure they are up to date with organizational and legal requirements. Book tickets, hotels and other logistical parts of trainings, seminars and events organized by the team. Make phone and data charges to partners. Administer evaluation forms and processes after activities. Be the contact point of the team to the office administration. Be the contact point at the Bogota office for the CRD HQ regarding organization-wide activities and initiatives. Participate in the teams discussions on the human rights situation in the region, the political developments and the challenges the team and the partners face. To be suitable for this role you have: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Political Science, International Relations, Law or similar. Relevant Work experience: 0-2 years. Experience from certain tasks / responsibilities etc: Deep-rooted solidarity with human rights defenders at risk. Experience from Civil Society work in Latin America. Documented experience in administration of non-governmental organisations, small businesses, public offices or similar. Interest in the human rights situation in Latin America. Knowledge: Advanced working capacity in Spanish and English. Bookkeeping and file storing. How to work with people under stress and fear. Microsoft 365 (Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word). Google Workspace. Merit: Capacity to solve complicated problems in a fast and creative way. Positive attitude when given tasks. About the employment This is a full-time permanent employment with 2 months probation period starting in January 2025 or according to agreement.
