San Francisco State University, Department of Social Work offers an exciting opportunity for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. We seek a colleague whose teaching and research interests include Behavioral Health and/or Integrated Behavioral Health. We seek a colleague whose teaching, community practice experience, and research interests include the full range of behavioral health services to children, youth, and adults. We are especially interested in qualified candidates with a demonstrated commitment through social work vision and practice that centers social and racial justice and advances the diversity and excellence of the School of Social Work's heritage of social action and scholarship. The San Francisco State University School of Social Work currently educates over 200 BASW and MSW students in our accredited program and employs over 25 lecturers and 10 staff. Responsibilities
The position requires BASW and/or MSW teaching experience, mentoring and advising BASW and/or MSW students, developing an active ongoing scholarship agenda in one's area of specialty, and ongoing committee and service assignments.
Compensation
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is:
$101,500 – $103,500 Annually (12 monthly payments per academic year).
Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm ).
Professional development funds, moving expenses, start-up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
